Native Brook Trout is a five-color reduction linocut, meaning the image was carefully drawn and carved by hand into a single piece of linoleum, with portions of the block progressively carved away for each successive color. Every color was then individually printed by hand using professional Caligo Safewash inks.
The result is an authentic original print with the character, texture, and subtle variations that make hand-printed linocuts special.
The trout is printed on acid-free, 250 gsm Legion Stonehenge professional printmaking paper, a heavyweight, archival-quality paper.
The finished trout measures approximately 10″ wide × 3.5″ tall and the paper measures 14″ × 9″, giving the artwork plenty of clean space around the image for framing.
